the lighting makes it seem kind of like she crashed in on them through the top of some glass top by the light of the moon... more warehouse-ish. but still looks great. i'd say to give it a more underground effect, make the light seem more soft and orange/yellow.
I really prefer Babs as Oracle, because she's had more impact on the world doing what she does. Consider: as batgirl, she was just one of many people using the same symbolism Bruce Wayne already came up with. As Oracle, she became an utterly indespensible member of the most powerful JLA line up ever.
I don't think that means she has to be stuck in the chair for the rest of her life. But he's more unique as Oracle.
Anyways, there's a great sense of action and emotion in this picture. Doesn't look static; it looks dynamic. Great texture as well.
Yes, I do like Babs as Oracle too, especially during the Morrison JLA run. But somehow none of the subsequent Batgirls after her just seem to cut it. Its a little like how Hal will always be the definitive GL. Perhaps its the character I grew up with.
For me...well, there are different reasons. I kinda hate seeing female characters relegated to being an extension of a male character's franchise. It's like they don't have any identity outside the male character's influence. I've always felt that batgirl in the comics was kinda superfluous, but as soon as she became Oracle, she established her own identity and her own power independant of any symbolism or appeal owned by Batman. When I was a kid, Babs was, to me, just someone Robin should have dated. She was always in the background as a side character. But as oracle...she took center stage, you know?
The only Batgirl I've truly felt was unique and interesting was Cassandra Cain, and they've kinda mishandled her.
But opinions vary, I reckon. It's a bad-ass pic regardless.
In regards to my comment, your Batgirl is still awesome, hence the fave, but i just like how much the two are in shadow yet they look so well executed! Stuff like that happens to me all the time, i concentrate on one thing and something else turns out better than i had planned. "i worked so hard on the face but look at how good i did the elbows!!"
Well with the way things are going with the current Batman story line there's no telling what will happen. I'd like to see Dick Grayson become Batman with Bruce Wayne returning and taking a role like he had on Batman Beyond while at the same time Barbara finally makes it out of the chair and walks again.
